I was looking for linkage for a 68 440 - 727. I picked this up and it was identified as the correct linkage. Sadly it is not as far as I can tell. Anyone have an idea what this really went to? The connection to the trans is adjustable, and the first linkage has a C curve in it. There is also an eye hole in the center rod for a spring or something. Thanks.

It looks the same as the one on my 1988 Dodge Diplomat.

I thought I had lost my kickdown linkage while my car was apart.. Stock 67 440/727..

Looking at my FSM, looked like the 383 was different AND the small block different also..

I had some stock Kickdown linkages from some parts cars, so I thought I was OK..

Fortunately I found the correct linkage off of my car... What I can tell you is the lengths, belcranks, and rods are slightly different between all three of the above motors.. So the Service manual is correct that each linkage is ever so slightly different...

SOO, when you look for the correct kickdown linkage they can be very close but not correct depending on the application...

Thanks, I see that dougs linkage matches what I see in the service manual. The one I have doesn't have an adjustable carburator rod or an adjustable intermediate transmission rod. This would make adjusting the linkage a bit difficult. I'm going to swap out the reverse valve in few months so I've still got time to spend. Year1 has a kit for four hundred and some change.
