Just wondering if any of you guys use a baffle that sits in the lifter galley to keep oil off the intake?? I have one but think the lifters will hit it. I PMed a SB engine builder and he said not to use it but just thought I would ask what others are doing??

I've used them in the past and the lifters didn't hit. They won't fit with an Air Gap intake, but then again they aren't needed with one either. If it would fit I would still use it so that in the event of a valve train failure the lifters couldn't come out causing a massive oil pressure loss.

I have one I made and when I pulled my intake off after running it there was no oil on the bottom of the intake to speak of.

I run one under my t-ram

It does 2 things for me :

1 - keeps the oil off the bottom and keeps the intake cooler

2 - in the event of a valvetrain failure it will keep the lifters in the bores so I dont have a loss in oil pressure.

It wont work with roller lifters.
