I have a 383 with the .030 trw 2293 domes. I'm curious what the dome cc is.
This engine was built way back in 1980, heads are 906's with double springs and aluminum retainers. Some weird rod bolts with a locking style nut. It has main studs and head studs with a 7 quart pan and HV oil pump. There is no cam in it so no idea what was in it
Thanks

I "think" it's 12cc's IIRC.I have the same slugs in my old 383.It's been a long time since we bought those pistons.
Nautilus Racing- We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

I have been coming up with all different answers searching the web, people saying they are 11.5-1 with 88cc heads which would make the dome huge.

Maybe a better question is how much cylinder pressure do people have with these?
I'm trying to decide on what head gasket to use, there is a huge difference between 12 and 22 cc.

Its been years since I built my engine, but I'm pretty sure I ended up with 11.3:1 with the pistons .005 in the hole and 88cc edelbrock heads.
I have a small solid cam (232/242) in the engine and it was pushing 195ish psi if I remember correct.
Hope this helps.

What gas are you trying to use? Mine; .045 in the hole, 1009 gasket, w/82 cc 906s, wouldn't come close to running ok on pump gas even with the timing turned way down. I run C12 , and now have 75cc aluminum -1's on it. Don't know for sure what the compression is, but it ran 130 mph in a 2900# + 67 cuda.

Thanks everyone
I'm trying to figure out what exactly I'm gonna do with this engine. I have a 440 block getting machined at the moment. My duster needs an engine with the 511 being pretty smashed up. Gonna go back to having fun before I revisit the B1 engine.
If the 383 would run high 10's in a light A body back half car I would put it in it.

Did you have to fly-cut the pistons with the 590 ? ... if so - how much? .....and where did those pistons come-up .. on the deck?
I didn't on mine. .585 comp,275 at .050, amd 1.6 intakes, but they are tight. Around .070 on the exhaust....
