Brian just stopped by and we were talking about it.
Next week looks pretty good for the Direct Connection car, not sure what day yet though, will have to wait and see how the week plays out.

Track adequate...facilities...not so much! I prefer Ubly, which is 45 min. further for me,but if friends are going to Lapeer,I'll be there,if possible! It's more about hangin' with friends than how good the track is, for me anyway!

Randy, I couldn't agree more. I too like Ubly but it's quite a drive for us.
Sean, I would prefer to go Saturday if possible. I would be happy to get 4 good passes in. Just have to keep an eye on the weather and get all the "honeydo" chores done during the week!

Randy, understood! Ubly is quite a hike for you guys! I hope to bring the X and get some runs in with you guys! All depends on my energy level! This is my chemo treatment week. Last day this month will be thursday! I'll have to play it by ear! I still plan on meeting you guys out there even if I leave the car at home! RandyB

Chief, one way or the other,I'll be out there! With or without the GTX! It's at Jake's Automotive right now, looking to purchase an upper control arm to replace my old damaged one! Should make a decision on who I'll get one from tomorrow! BTW...how's Doug been feeling the last week? Better,I hope!

I will honestly say that Lapeer is the only track that actually kinda 'scares' me.

I raced at Lapeer a few times, it's on a country road out in the boonies. Kinda looks like ajunk yard. There were two huge mud puddles at the entrance where you sign in and pay your 20 bucks. The same guy that takes your money looks over your car for a second and makes sure you have helmut. Then you go in and try to find a spot in the pits that is dry and without mud puddles.

The track is narrow but seems fairly flat and straight. Theres two turnoffs, the last one for cars with bad brakes or real fast. Then thers a row of trees at the end, those will definitely stop you. Ofcourse theres no ambulance, and it would take a while for one to get there from the city. I guess you can think of Lapeer as street racing... but legal. I did see some pretty fast cars out there...nice ones too..running in the 8s.

Its a good test n tune place.. although a bit wierd and risky.

I have a different take on LaPeer. I look at it as a very casual, low pressure fun place to tnt at. You can literally make as many laps as you want. Bring you 10 second and slower car, your friends, a bbq and look to have a great time. I'm going to ?Milan for Heads-up Friday night, so I'll be out late but will try to show up and hang for a bit.

Chief...I'll be out there for a few hours! Won't have the X though! It's getting fixed at Jake's Automotive this week. Plan on racing Sunday,July 11th, up in Ubly, which is a slightly better facility than Lapeer! At least you don't have to venture on over to the concession stand to pick up your time slip!

that and I cook...

(there are a lot of reasons why he brings me, but it all boils down to that he'd blow his junk up if he didnt.)

Just saying. haha
