Can any one tell me if the park cable for a 63 Plymouth and Dodge are the same???

Pulled one out of a Dodge and it seems to be about 2" short in my Plymouth. I also change the tail shaft to a 65 would that have anything to do with it?

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Trying to get this thing out for the next F.A.S.T races in two weeks.

Thanks Ed

Looking in A&A Transmission's 2010 catalog, it shows one part number
for the park cable, fitting 1962-65 A, B, C bodies and Imperials.

Hope that helps.

That must be a "universal" type cable that is long enough to fit all applications. My original suspicion is probably correct that they are different. Imperial Services shows a different cable-Dodge vs, Plymouth.

Checked my 63 parts manual and they are different. 63 Plymouth is 2401291, Dodge is 2401292

...from the different position of the shifter IN and NEAR the dash itself ? .. IMO ....what a waste !! ......

And YET MaMopar dropped the drain-plug in the trans-pan for a MASSIVE savings of 25 cents ??... !!

I will bet the cable-diff/cost-diff was more-than-that !!

Or they dropped the drain plug so that you have to remove the pan to drain it, the thinking was that if you have to pull the pan you're more likely to change the filter and adust the rear band.
