wouldnt most people think that for what they charge for there damper that the dam bolt would automaticly come with the package?instead they want to sell the bolt seperately to make an extra buck,no doubt they sell a good product but i really hate dealing with companys like ati!

Oh I did. And he's not denying it, but the fact is, I'll probably have to pay the penalty to fix it.

ATI cannot include a crank bolt with their dampers because every crank diameter is not the same. They are close but some are on the low side and some are on the high side. If they did include a bolt and it was the wrong side they would probably be liable. It is common practice to fit the damper to the crank.

It seems that the engine builder was not paying attention, when I installed my ATI balancer I used a long bolt nut and washer, screwed in the bolt, turned the nut to draw it on,then removed that and inserted the stock bolt, It slid in only to stop with about 1/4" of threads to screw in . That told me right away that I needed a longer bolt. Maybe it was because I stayed at the holiday inn.
