my intake is hitting my msd pro billet distributor, and i need to retard it a tad more in order to phase in the distributor, which way do i go with the distributor gear drive to get more movement with the distributor going backwards? thanks
Look down the hole and see where its at... then use a big screw driver... it'll only turn one way to come out of the cam gear... just think in your head which way you want to go... you might have to go 2 teeth short of 1/2 way around

When you turn it out, like Mike suggests, you can start skipping teeth until you get it in the position you want. The firing order won't change, just the position of the intermediate shaft to the cam gear.

which way to turn the gear a few turns clockwise or counterclockwise in order to get the distributor to turn backwards or retarded more. im out of room at the intake?
If you move the shaft you want to go in the direction that you want to move the dist... if you move the plug wires you go in the opposite dicrection, that way you have to turn the dist back to get the timing cant tell you which way to go because you didnt say what engine... they turn opposite directions
