Still waiting for an answer on my square-jetted using a power valve question! ANYONE EVER SEE OR HEAR OF THIS BEING DONE??? Thanks! RandyB

As your intuition is telling you...it is unusual. I've never seen it without something else being wrong. You can most likely rule-out a weaker 'signal' in the front half of the engine. Is the P/V sized correctly? Is it ruptured? If you want additional advise/views start a new post topic. I can only speak for myself but, I'll only read thru a post once even if I reply I rarely look for a reply to my reply...Because I don't reply often, LOL. I'm not sure but, it almost seemed like you were trying to use a similair # jet in a different carb? If that's the case then don't IMO. For me, at the track sometimes you just give it what it wants and ask Q's later. Hoodscoops can cause jetting issues that won't show up on a chassis dyno. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks Dartin' will be running and we'll all hang-out at the track to tune.

I would say that`s not common and after chasing my tail for years and wearing out jet threads, the chassis dyno is the way to go+ have you messed w/bleeds yet. Have you opened the carb up to see if anything`s funky inside?

Tells me that the PV circuit is too small so you need
the added jet size to cover it up.... the carb has
been opened many times but I never measured the PV
holes... the carb was set on the dyno to the numbers
it has now
EDIT
I actually said it backwards the PV circuit is too
big... it might have a high flow PV and it could
use a standard... being that carb is old

Toss the PV & square jet accordingly , only the motor can tell you what size jetting for that carb , it all depends on how the motor is set up , going up in jet sometimes won't net any gains due to air speed having already been maxed out , messing with HSB/emulsion circuit can net some gains , i've always wondered why holley ships these carbs 88 square jet with two power valves , they could @ least supply jet extensions to the rear , but they don't.

I think some of you mis-read which carb has the power valve! NOT THE DOMINATOR! The 850 that the car was dynoed with. I think I might just square-jet the 850 also. Maybe start out with 86 squared, and go from there! Thanks guys! RandyB

Randy... why mess with it... it was on the dyno and
it works on your car... if its not broke dont fix it

On my last car, the DartSport, it had a #9375 carb and liked 98 jets , no power valves.

On this 69 Dart I have an old 9375 that was rebuilt by BIGS and it likes 86 jets squared, no power valves. You'll just have to do some testing.

Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll be back at it next sunday. New slicks should be in this week! Anybody using GoodYear D-3 compound? That's what these will be! Got a good deal on them from Harlow Tire, here in metro Detroit!
