I like a 800 on the 383 will get you at least.15 in qtr unless the sec are coming in too fast.I assume the 800 is avs version not the afb which if it is oh well!!!

Was the Holley dialed in better? The air door alone takes some time with the AVS to get just right. Not counting jetting/rods.

the holley was my engine guys dyno carb. For anything under 500 cubes (as far as i can tell). But it was set up a lot better than my eddy, but that eddy only gave me problems

Really? What was wrong with the 800 AVS? I haven;t seen anybody saying that they had trouble with the AVS carbs.

They are very forgiving carbs. Air door
vs. Vac sec/mech sec, Air doors are nearly foolproof and less chance of vacuum leaks!!!

bought the 650 AVS eddy and it has much better performance then the 750 eddy AFB it replaced!! hands down Very nice low end pick up!!! seems perfect for the 383HP bone stock engine. ...thanks for all the advice!
