I`m having a small issue with what I assume is the wheelie bars, more than the actual chassis set-up.
Problem started with still being wheels-up for the 1-2 shift. So lowered the wheeliebars and stiffen the springs on them.
That works SOME of the time. Now if the front gets higher than say 30in`s the car goes hard left AFTER its reach max height.
If I keep the w/bars low and stiff I can avert the height/left issue but on poor tracks like yesterday I blow the tires off since it nevers get up on the rear. So I took spring out of the w-bars . Hook improved but after the weather and track changed ,more power more hook.
Off in the grass we went.
I have video of yesterday{no I can`t figureout how to post} And what it does, leaves straight and square. After it reaches max height, goes left quickly.
Looks alot like a pulling tractor when he jabs one brake to correct on 2-wheels.

Ladderbars,coilovers,single adj. Aldon? shocks.
90/10 fronts,otherwise stock susp.
Not shooting for the moon, but want some airtime.
When it pulled big wheelies it went straight but 2nd gear was a constant issue.Smashed the pan several times trying to shift before it came down.
Lowered and stiffened the w-bars and that worked till it started spinning.

Well I don`t think its just that simple. Are you saying of the 1,000`s of cars running w-bars,we ALL have our heads up our a-s?
My car has over 50% weight on the rear tires and makes good torq.Your car is a heavy automatic.
Apples to Oranges.

Bar is in lowest hole, already limited some travel.
Will try more.
Next set of tires will be smaller and take out some hook.

Dennis,

I would pm bondo bob or call him. I think he could help you out with whatever is causing your problems. some double adjustable afco's would help in tuning. I would call and setup a visit to his shop to check things out and maybe a trip to the track to help you tune on the car.

Up your rear tire pressure a 1/8 pound then check it
again... dont try to dead hook... if you get UP on
the tire some it'll 60' better and the front wont climb
as high..... DONT try steering the car with the WB
you can mildly assist it with them

Have you tried staggering the height of the bars from one side to the other , most faster cars need one wheel higher than the other to keep from driving right on the bars. driving left I would say to much preload in rear suspention. Every car is different so its just something to ponder.

W-bars are level now, right side pre-load was what I was thinking too.
Was on my list of things to check over, thanks

We had a similar problem years ago,and tried everything to correct it.We finally found that the chassis was flexing(twisting)we added a few more stiffening bars under the car at the frame connecters and ladder bar cross member and the problem went away.
