Hello,
I am working to get factory electrical gauges working on my 69 road runner. Finally the gas gauge is working but the temp gauge is not. The tracer on the circuit board looks great, I have flashing power at the sending unit, but when I ground the gauge out at the sending unit the needle will move just a fraction. I know that grounding the gauge should peg the needle all the way and more. I have to believe that the gauge itself is bad. My question to all of you is has anyone been inside one of these gauges and what should I look for once I am inside?

they are super flimsy inside you can try to clean with contact cleaner, other than that look for a nos, or send it out for a rebuild.

Is there any wiring that might be soldered up?
