Is it to drain dirt or water?
Im re-doing brake lines and this plug is staring at me...Should I open it?

Its holding the guts in. There is a spring or springs, and some seals. May also have an orifice to limit pressure. I wouldn't remove you are ready to service it DAMHIK.
