I ordered a set of Cooper Cobra 265/50/15 for the back of my dart. I like to run blackwalls out. These have a ugly cobra snake on black side. Has anyone made white letters black and made them look right? Whats the best way?

While slowly rotating the tire, you could grind down the cobra-logo with a flapper disc on your angle grinder.

i just finished using a simple magic marker, looks fine to me. Plus if it needs touch up, keep a sharpie in the car.

You need to put a 6pk hood scoop on your 66 Dart. They look great on 66 Dart's. Ron

Tires with white lettering commonly have a laminated sidewall of black, white then black rubber and molded to allow the white to show through. If you grind off the letters (or logo) you'll likely end up with a white patch where the letter's used to be. There was a similar thread recently on this same subject. Good luck

LOL, Just yanking your chain. The only thing I could think to cover it would be some "tire black" paint. The raised portion would still be there, but it would be covered in black and not be so noticable. An auto paint store should carry the stuff. I used to use it in a shop where we would paint the rims on the fleet vehicles to match the truck, then just use the tire black and brush it on the entire tire to cover up the overspray from the painted rims. The stuff is very durable, and looks just like brand new rubber when it dries. It covers great and "tightens up" as it dries. No blotchy or thick stuff shows.
