Are the supplied head studs really necessary when using the edelbrock heads on a 440? I have ARP bolts in mine, do Ineed to change out those 2 studs?

Don't see why they would be nec. I have 8 studs left over sitting in a drawer.

Do you mean the 5/16 studs to mount the rocker shafts? I went ahead and used them. They are hardened similar to the ARP bolts. Should make no difference in durability.
