I have been driving HP Mopars since 1980 but never ran one on a drag strip. Tomorrow I will take my Duster out and give it a try.
76 Feather Duster, 318 4speed 3.55 SG. Small Summit cam, Performer intake with a 73 TQ. 68-70 340 exhaust manifolds through full 2.25 exhaust. Well tuned, 14 degree initial, 35 degree at 2500 rpm.

1/8 mile track, should I be in the 10's??

Drive around the water if you dont have slicks...

Make sure you have an over flow on the radiator,,,

Feather it out of the hole....

Have fun......

I can shift them, I am hoping to launch at 2000 to 3000 RPM, I will experiment during the dial in.

Good advice, thanks. The rookie racer is off to the track. I will post my results when I get back and you all can pick on,, I mean critique me then.

I had a hoot but traction was an issue. My best was 10.58 at 65.12 mph, .75 reaction time. My best reaction time was .57 but had to back off as I was spinning my tires.

I went around the water on all passes ans tried to feather off the line. My sure grip is toast as I was spinning one most of the time.

Next week I will drop tire pressure, should I do a burnout or avoid the water all together?

I really think a new Sure grip unit and some drag radials would be a good starting point.

That TQ is a very good carb for your application. Way more adjustible thn a holley. Work with the air door (most likely needs to be tighter) so you don't get all of the seconarys at the hit.
Good luck, and have fun!

Avoid the water (it gets up in the treads and weeps out going down the track) but do a burn out and less air. reaction time does not effect 1/4 / 1/8 time is that is just the amount of time it takes you to move across the start line after the light has turned green. most of us hit it on last yellow as by the time the car actually moves green is on.
