I'm going through upper strut mounts on my wife's 01 Caravan like crazy; PS lasted about 4 months before blowing out and the DS is not far behind. The struts themselves are not that old but the springs are originals (150k miles) and I'm wondering if the springs are weak and thus applying extra pressure to the mounts; any input on the service life of the springs or any suggestions as to my problem? Towers on the van are rust free and rock solid. Thanks.

Never had problems with them.Sounds like they arent being installed right. The springs Ive never had any problems with and Ive replaced a lot of those struts. What are the plates doing when they go bad?We replaced a lot of struts with the Quick Struts.Saves on labor that offsets the price of them.Rocky

The rubber inside the strut mount is coming apart and then the strut shaft is not supported at all. How can these things be assembled incorrectly, seems pretty straight forward to me (but obviously I'm missing something.)

If the rubber is coming apart it sounds like its binding. The bearing plates can be assembled wrong.Ive done a bunch and even reused the plates because the customer didnt want to spend the $$$$ for new plates.Never had a problem.Rocky
