I'm tired of my deep pan catching on everything. What are my options for low profile large capacity oil pans?

440 on a 1969 Road Runner

Thanks

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

I would have to say not very many! I too have done an exhausting search into this after I changed my K frame to a tubular version and noticed all the room available to me now. With all the manufacturers out there the only type available with a hi-capacity and low profile was only with the rack and pinion steering option which was $$$$$$$$$. so back to the 7" deep pan and drag link set up.
If you find something let me know!

'course I had to take a picture and I realize that if I change the pan. The new low point will be the headers!

Sorry don't have a pic but I had mine made by charlie's. Gave him dimensions and drawing and he made the pan. Pete

The "hemi" pan is a cost effective option... about one inch deeper than stock. In theory +2 quarts for 6 quarts in the pan but it works better with 5 in the pan. The Milodon circle track pan is an (expensive) option then there's a custom pan from Charlies with kickouts... kinda like the circle track pan.

With the Hemi pan in a very aggressive application, a pressurized oil reserve tank may be a good choice to make sure there's always oil.

What would you rather tear a hole in, the pan or a header ?!?!?!

1) raise the car up - personally I like the high 60's/'70's superstock look
2) build a skid plate on the k-frame - doesn't have to go completely under the pan but enough to kit before the pan does

The Milodon low-profile 8-quart pan is on my Roadrunner, also used one on a Duster.
I've never whacked an oil pan on anything except one time on the race car after a bumper-dragging wheelstand, and that car has a huge SS-style pan. I've never whacked headers on anything either, but none of my cars are as low as yours is; generally I run 1" minimum clearance to the bump stops.

Nope not going super stock racing not anymore.

most likely will at least do a temporary skid plate though

I made a skid plate for the Torana since the new pan stuck down a little...

Milodon circle track pan is about the only thing off the shelf that will fit.

Maybe one day i will get around to taking a pic of my car. I don't think a skid plate would really do much given the way the pan sits.

With all the baffles and even the port for a temp sender, the circle track pan is really a pretty trick piece for not THAT much more than other pans.

I just went and looked out of curiosoty and you can still get them for 450 plus shipping. So about 460 at Summit.

I think I will have to do something like that, but at the same time get a something like the TTI headers or some other header that does not go under the centerlink. So this is starting to sound like a 1500 dollar fix.
