Who cares? The original poster only wanted to know if it was worthwhile to install a ch4b/dp4b over a stock intake. Question was answered.
WHO CARES ? ... you must be a newbie here(and don't comprehend how topics can "wander") ..OR is it that your SIG is more on-target than you realize.
The Q was answered ? ...ONLY the OP can confirm that .. but there are BESTer intakes than a CH4B ... and I will stand-by that statement.

Sure there are, plenty of them. But, the ones mentioned are not................................
As far as cherry picking, this berry bumz had a CH4B 20 years ago, and it was a decent intake. Im not saying its the end all (Cmon, seriously) but it is better than a stock intake by far.
Not that intake flow numbers mean everything, but look at the flow numbers on a CH4B. Not bad at all.(Esp when compared to stock) Not too far off of RPM and a SD. That said both the RPM and SD will make more power, but......
72 RR, Pump gas 440, 452s, 3800 lbs, Corked, ET Radials,. 11.33@117.72.
Same car, bone stock 346s, 9.5 comp, baby solid. 12.24@110.

Been here 5 years before you; or can you not comprehend how the registered date is below your avatar? Sure topics can wander. But you seem bound and determined to ram the old sp2p intake down everyone's throat. No one liked them when they were new because they DID NOT WORK. Any more questions you can pm me if you like.
BECAUSE you were reged in here before me does not indicate you have more knowledge than I.
And GET your facts straight ...I am not trying to "ram" the SP2P down anyones throat. The intake has its place ...and it DID WORK in the application it was designed for.

SEEING those numbers from S D ...I would agree and I stand corrected.
And this long-standing member of the ThermoSquad has been a major-fan(and BerryBumz his-self!) of the Street-Dominator intake.
I have THREE of those on "vehicles" that I have. ALL of those pages of the test would not load but from what I have heard the SD intake shines above all other single 4bbl intakes.

I agree, there is a place for the SP2P and Streetmaster intakes for a 440, It's on the shelf in someone else's garage.

SOUNDS great .. the more for me and the people I know that KNOW how to tweak the combo ...

If a person was serious about lowend torque in a 440, the Factory Truck 413 industrial heads and intake would be a better choice. The current Performer intake is on par with a stock 440 intake, the CH4B is superior to the stock intake even though it was designed 40 years ago.
Sheldon
BAD BOY ... you changed your post
And what is your SPECIFIC experience with the industrial heads and intake ?
In my experienceS .. the intake is hardly worth the cast-iron scrap value. The heads ... what work have you done on them ?

The only problem with the sp2p is it made more tq than the other manifolds but only at an RPM that was below the stall speeds of even a stock low stall converter, if you have a manual trans and like to load it hard at 1500 rpm than it can work but by 2000 the other manifolds start makeing more tq.
