Glad you both got some runs in today!
Hey don't feel bad, I've done the same thing as you. Put an old used convertor in behind a fresh mill. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't!
Now out with the trans and put in another vert!
Kenny took me from 10.50's to 10.30's when I bought one from him for my old duster!

Alky:
759 hp @ 7400 rpm
603 ft lbs @ 5800 rpm.

I will have to put that as calibration for that dyno. Whose dyno is it? And as I recall 2800-3000 lbs with driver?

That RPM compared to the peak HP isn't bad. But if the converter is slipping a lot, it will eat up power, especially at the finish line. What is the tire dia, gear, etc. so you can calculate the converter slip?

As someone else posted, that is roughly 19%-23%... Definitely not working correctly in that combo.

Did you double check the trans fluid level, stall check, etc? You should be able to make a tight 8" do the job. But a 9" can be made to do it too.

Sorry Dom, we stayed at the track last night so yes, I'm still here and looking to make some passes.

Also got to figure out an elevtrical glitch on the 72 or I'm pushing it back int the trailer

here's the 1/8 mile times first pass was 6.60@103.74 second, 6.7@101.90. third 6.66@102.63

Jim, tires are 31's and the gear a 4:56.

I just hope the wind dies down toady. Yesterday it was terrible. Hard cross wind

I never ran it through the calculator. I've never had any faith in them as I've never seen one close to real word.

I was hoping for high 9.80's low 9.90's myself.

I agree on more air pressue in the slicks. And needs a tighter converter. You might loose a litte 60 ft with a tighter converter But it should be pulling a lot harder on the top end. Good luck today!

Always

On a good note, we went ahead and did the chassis cert anyways, just in case we do get it sorted out I didn't have to pay more later.

Passed 8.50 cert with flying colors

Good luck today and if you have the same results no point in beating a dead horse. Get the right vert and get back out there and get those well deserved 9-sec slips......you deserve it...

What I`m saying is that if he has the same results after a few passes chances are he`s not going to go much quicker and he might as well go home , get the new vert and go get those 9-sec slips.

While he's there he might as well have fun and run as many laps as possible even if it ain't nines

I guess............If my goal was a 9-sec slip(which mine was)and I knew it wasn`t there then I`d head home, make the necessary changes and go get it. But, that`s just me......Carry on.
