Made 3 passes today, first pass I left the launch and shift settings the same as last year, 3600 and 5800. I shifted real lazy too and it went a 10.47@124mph. Carried the front end good as I felt it come back down. 1.43 60'

Next run we bumped up to 4200 and 6600 and it spun bad off the line. 1.52 60' and ran 10.64@124mph

Last pass we dropped the tires down to 8 psi and got it to hook better, Went 1.49 60' and 10.53@125mph.

We think the conv might be to loose as I'm turning 7600-7700 rpm at the stripe and a soft luanch and short shifting netted the best ET.

I wanted to make another pass but had to get Taylor some runs W her new motor. She lifted big time on the first pass and went 9.60.

Next pass I jetted it up as it was a little lean and she ran it hard but I know she didn't run it all out. Went 8.71 @ 65 mph. Now she used to run 9.20's @ 68 mph so I know she didn't stay in it.

Dying to see how much I'm gonna need to slow her down

Dam Ted, I had a lot to type and had to chase down the time slips so I had everything accurate.

Conv is a borrowed TA 8"

I was really hoping it would like the new set up but I guess you can't have everything.

Bill, glad to hear it went down the track and you didn't break anything. Now the fun part is coming trying to get it tuned just right and trying different launch and shifting patterns to see what works best. I do think you are spinning it way too much at the top end.

7700 at the stripe??

WAT?!?!

Like, not planning on doing that too many times are ya?

Whats the gear ratio and tire size on your combo?

124 does seem close for mid 10's. A little shy but close.

I just went 10.79 @ 122 in my old car today.

Well, at least you got some data to work with for next time. What were your increments when you went that 10.96 and the 11 0`s.

I was turing 120 when made that 10.96 pass.

Tires are 31's and gears are 4:56's.

Half a second for 5 mph seems a little off to me?

Hard to say exactly what happened but the mph and et do seem close to right on. Granted a converter can make a big difference but to go from mid 10`s to the predicted low 9`s is doubtfull. Not baggin just stating my opinion. On a good note you destroyed your old et and have a new best w/more to come. Oh, and your 8 3/4 held up just like I knew that it would.

Thanks guys. I do appreciate the kind words

However, both Scott and I had our thoughts on what it would run and both of us are diassapointed at this point.

I know first hand how much difference a conv can make. I saw it happen when my old one went away.

I personally think there is more in this.

Best part is... It's all still in one piece. Glad the 8 3/4 help up. I would be planning a dana for her soon. Who won with the closest guess?
