76dodgeboy OP master Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 8,064 Iowa	I have a 8 3/4 that needs all the brakes and I have a 8 1/4 and 9 1/4 that are complete. Can I swap the brakes fron either to the 8 3/4? Thanks

RapidRobert Circle Track R Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 36,041 Lincoln Nebraska	only if you have BBP axles in the A body 8&3/4 which were cut down to the regular BBP brake offset distance when they were machined (which most are so as to use std 10" BBP brakes which the 8&1/4/9&1/4 would have). live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

Kern Dog Striving for excellence Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 18,493 Granite Bay CA	ALL 8.25 and most 9.25 backing plates/Brake assemblies will interchange, assuming they are passenger car axles. The light duty 3/4 ton truck 9.25 had 8 lug rims with totally different backing plates and drums. ALSO, consider post 73 A body cars with disc brakes. Even the 7.25 axle cars used the same backing plates as the 8.25 and 9.25 axle.
