It's real easy to check the switch. Hot on one side and when you push the pedal it's hot on both sides. If it's working then you probably have a bad turn signal switch.

Most brake light problems are in the turn signal switch. Try putting your foot on the brake and rock the turn signal switch and see if they magically come back.

use a test light on the wiring at the brake light switch, you should have power in when the pedal released and power on both sires depressed.
If no test light use a jumper wire and just cross the 2 wires together and see if you have brake lights.
brake light switches are cheap guess, - turn signal switches , not so cheap

BTW just because the trun signals and flashers work doesn't mean the turn signal switch is good. The brake ligts are a seperate circuit in the switch.

EZ to check..
Jumper the 2 wires on the brake lite switch..
1. If the lites works, the switch is bad
2. If the lites don't work, check elsewhere

Just my $0.01..
