Hey everyone. just put my 71 coronet back on the road and i'm having some electrical issues....first off, at low rpm, the turn signals don't have enough power to flash. once the motor's revved up they work fine. i've checked the wiring to the front turn signals/markers and everything seems to check out okay...

also, after driving at night for more than 15-20 minutes.. my headlights flicker on and off (rather inconvenient).... when the car's running the ammeter reads high with the lights off. when all the lights are on at idle...it drops right down...

i have since replaced the alternator and checked amperage throughout the charging system...seems to be fine as well. i've checked my grounds, bought a new voltage regulator at napa...didn't help.

i'm running out of ideas...perhaps the ammeter is bad? getting kind of discouraged...

thanks for looking,
Greg

Make sure you have a ground strap between the motor and the body.

Make sure that you have a good battery and that it is taking a charge. Make all connections nice and shiney and tight.
