Little noisy, going to be changing oil soon.
Is there anything to help?

How many miles, how long have they been noisy? I consider all of the touted snake oil remedies to be just that but several people have sucessfully quieted lifters w Marvel mystery oil. YMMV. Myself I'd take each lifter apart, inspect/clean in solvent/dry/oil/reassemble as their may be dirt in there or 1 or more may be worn out or get another set and redo the cam breakin procedure. Take the valve cover off & w it running press down on each one on the pushrod end w a wooden hammer handle & see if it quiets any of them to ID a bad one. Noisy lifters will eventually just get on your nerves after so long.

It depends why it's noisey in the first place. If there is excessive valve lash like from a worn valve train. No additive will compensate for that.

You can try a liter of ATF add it to the oil and drive a day before oil change. if it still presists on a small block I would look for worn pushrods and maybe rockers. Cheap fix.

Sorry for the late reply.
Engine was done about 5000 ago.
The noise goes away after about 15 minutes.
I should probably check the adjustments on the lifters.

Yup, nothing you put in the oil will fix the wrong valve lash.

The roller 318 in my truck does the same thing, they tick like crazy for the first 10-15 minutes but after it warms up it's quiet as a mouse. The ticking gets on my nerves but I don't want to have tear into it to replace them. It runs great otherwise.

make shure you rule out an exhaust leak, I cant believe how many people mistake an exhaust leaks for noisy lifters. Id feel pretty stupid if I changed all my lifters and the exhaust was still leaking.

pint of transmission fluid in the oil works as well as the high priced additives.

May just be CHEAP lifters. My local engine builder uses them, I hate them, We've had several comebacks on "rebuilt" motors. No other issues than exactly what you describe. We've swapped in several sets of Quality lifters IE: comp cams. and the issue goes away. I 'm trying to convince the builder but he's not listening and i am looking for another builder.

Over time a spring with high seat pressure will squeeze the oil out of the lifter. This causes the rod to be a tad loose at start up. Once the oil psi has evened the lifter pintles, and filled. The engine should stop ticking for those first few minutes.

To avoid this use cams with less lift/spring pressures on a hydraulic lifter .
