Get one from a V 8 application.

I'm not 100% sure but i think V6 and V8 are the same. Any late model Magnum engine starter will work. When I get mine from the parts store I tell them I want a starter for a 1995(this is the year I always pick but any 94-02 will work) 4x4 ram with a 360, a/c, cd player, towing package, SLT with power brakes and windows

any magnum starter is almost an exact copy as the mopar performance mini starter. I know because the price of a starter for my Dakota was around $250 (about 8 years ago), but the mopar one was cheaper so i took a chance. part numbers are the same on the starters, just the box was different. and i think the nuts were different too.

Autozone pt# 17010 from a 90 D150 worked for me. Costs a little over $80

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Everytime we get a truck, dakota, b van, even a viper once, and they need a starter, our dealership quoted them new, no core, if the customer didnt want them, I snagged them. You can get the new contacts from any good altornator, starter repaire shop. Last ones costed me 7.50. Thats whats in the Demon, My dads Charger, and It had 13.5 : 1 comp. They are also the same basic DENSO starter used on the new harley. I have gotten the new contacts through J&P a few times also. 99% of the time its just a bad solonoid contact issue, and the starter itself is fine. I have 4 in my junk drawer in my tool box right now. The Magnum style just uses metric nuts, and thats about it.
