How much should a guy have with a digital 6 MSD? I am running champion RJ12YC, Iron headed 440, 9.5 to one comp. I currently run 40 thou. gap, pump gas, street driven.

maybe open them up to .045ish
MSD's don't mind a bigger gap.

No benefit going wider IMO. That where I run my naturally aspirated stuff with a 7al.

A wider gap will help, I have found on some, help a cold nature car idle better and start someteimes The wider the gap the bigger the spark in the combustion chamber I use tu run .090 in my Hemi stocker with a MSD 404B Idle good, rev good with that box I ended up going back down to .060 on that car for no real improvement or loss in performance

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

When I ran my E/SA 340 Duster I put a 7AL on and increased the gap from .040 to .060 hoping for some power gain. This resulted in a power loss as the car slowed almost 2 MPH. Regapped the plugs and ran 1/2 hour later and picked it all back up. Then I installed a new set of plugs gapped at .060. Lost 2 MPH. Regapped. Picked it back up. I know that every combo is different but that's my wide gap experience.

I dont know if it helps or not... but the plugs come
gapped at .035 but I open them to .040 but just to do
something different this year I'll try them at .045,
probably wont make a difference at all.... hell I dont
even change plugs very often... this set has been in
there, this will be the third year(2nd year really
cause I didnt race last year)

i gap at .040 too. Mallory Hyfire IV ignition

It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.

the last time I gapped a plug is when I had a full head of hair. never saw a change with modern ignitions.

open box, see plug gap not closed, install plug

With nitrous or forced air you have to close the gap considerably. We tried .020 on our Procharged deal and it dropped cylinders. We ended up at .017 with our Digital 7 ignition. We now have that piggy backed with an MSD 8 with the turbos but are hesitant to open them up any more.

So then what would be a good gap for a street driven 11 to 1 440 with a 200 shot?? Msd 6AL box. If I drive to the track I don't wanna mess with changing plugs on a hot motor for spray/no spray...keep it at 35 or tighten it up?
