Well guys, me and the owner made the deal, 900$ and its mine, but for now he let us take it home because where he's storing it is being sold and turned into a body shop. It needs a Water Pump, Plugs/wires,cap and rotor, and Belts/hoses to be road worthy. Its a little rusty, but for a 17 year olds first car(besides the demon)its Pretty sweet. I'm thinking Lean burn removal, air shocks, Keystones, and some other odds and ends. Whatya think?? ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0988_076.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0989_077.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0987_075.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0986_074.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0990_078.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0999_087.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0991_079.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0993_081.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0996_084.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0995_083.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0994_082.jpg) The Worst rust on the car Passenger rear frame rail. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0998_086.jpg) Driver side. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0997_085.jpg) Someone Please Decode. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/DSCN0992_080.jpg)

The wheels that are on it now look pretty good. I would deffinately loose the lean burn & install the MP conversion kit. Good luck with it.

Congrats on the new ride! Back when I was 18, my 77 NYB gave up and I bought a 76 Cordoba off of my friend. It was also green but with a white leather interior. Loved that car and this one reminds me of it. I had the Chrysler dress wheels on it but I really like the later `Doba/Mirada wheels you have on it right now. I say stick with `em. My car also had similar rust issues but looks like you can catch yours before the shackles push through the trunk (like mine did). ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) Have fun! ~Q

My first car was a light-green 77 Doba with a 400 LB and 2.45 gears. It would do 100mph with the shifter in 2nd - took forever to get there, though, and 3rd didn't give much more speed than that.
Anyway - Fix those rear spring shackles / rails / trunk floor immediately! Dobas are known for punching the springs thru the trunk floor.
Parts I seek:
driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set
16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better.
69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields
Send a PM.

I cant seem get the windows to work... The motor is going but the window does nothing...also, i will be getting the stuff for the tune up tommarrow.
Kit is sold on Ebay to fix that.
Congrats. Find a Magnum header panel and hood for it. One of the safest car you can put your youngster in.

Hey Guys, I got some stuff done on the Doba over the weekend. I'm starting to Clean and Polish every piece of chrome/aluminum, so I started with the Rims since they are apparently rare. Scuffed them with an SOS pad to clean them up, then I wet-sanded with 220 followed by 600,800,1000,then I moved to a Fine Steel Wool, Followed by an Ultra fine Steel wool. After the mild resurfacing I put some Mothers on it and hit it with the buffer and I was very happy with the result, not perfect but darn good for a 31 year old car from Illinois. I only Completed the front two this weekend but I'll be starting on the rears Tomorrow. Also Can someone photoshop for me a pic where the hood/front header panel(around the grill and head lights),fendertops/roof/trunk are blacked out? Thanks guys What I pretty much started with, these arent the finished ones in the following pics but they are in similar condition to what I started with, one of the front ones was heavily pitted. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5304_091.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5305_092.jpg) Masking ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5307_094.jpg) Shiny! ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5308_095.jpg) Finished Product. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5301_088.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5302_089.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5311_098.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5312_099.jpg) They arent Perfect like I said but Im stoked about the results and cant wait to get goin on the other 2 rims. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5303_090.jpg) Also Scored a free-bee Holley 4160 600 4bbl from a buddy I ordered a Renew kit I hope its the right one, My part # is LIST 9834, the holley site said for #'s 9834,9834-1,9834-2,9834-3, the renew kit is 37-720. Did I read the chart right? ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5313_100.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5314_101.jpg) The Doba waiting for its shoes back hahaha ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/CuriousYellow71/79%20Cordoba/102_5309_096.jpg) ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wrench.gif)
