I have a 472 Hemi with a solid roller that is a street car. It does not sound agressive enough for my taste. It is a Comp Cams with specs:
lift .616 int .577 ex.
285 duration at .015 lift
110 lobe seperation

I have an old Lunati roller left over from my racing days that I am toying with installing based on input from you guys. It has specs:
lift .600 int .602 ex.
.320 duration at .015 lift
106 lobe seperation

I know the bigger duration will give it a more aggresive sound but what is the effect of lobe seperation on a cam's function.

Thnks in advance for educating me.

Never mind guys. I should have done some checking elsewhere. The Comp Cams website has all of the info I was looking for.

Just narrowing the Lobe Seperation angle from 110 to 106 would make a big difference in "sound" because you will increase the amount of overlap when both the intake and exhaust valve are open.

gets sound, but sacrifice vacuum, for brake booster, also get more rough iddle.

Of course gets also a great boost at High RPMs

( that's why I have read )

actually a narrow lobe separation maximizes mid-range torque and drops off faster in the upper RPM range. a wider lobe separation will flatten out the torque curve, and sacrafice a little in the midrange, but carry the torque higher in the rev range, making more upper RPM power for a given duration.
