I did the same thing with mine when I started the body work and re painted it. These body lines look good with a slick side. Yours turned out real nice. What did you decide to do for a hood scoop? At Pinks last year when the gto blew up beside me a few pieces of the ls1 burned it in a couple of spots. I got that out best I could so I think I will keep it.
