Anybody currently using a GearVendor overdrive, or have used it most recently? Good points? Bad? Is the first over a useless shift? Does the second over really help to make faster, and help with ET's? Thanks.....

I've had one in my GMC Dually 454/T400/4.10 gear for years, and it's great. Never a problem. I've rarely bothered with splitting gears except 2nd & 3rd over/under. I don't think it'd make much sense for drag-racing, though. Dollar for dollar you could build power or chassis instead.

I run one in my daily driver 71 Satellite and I like it a lot. It's given me about 25% better mileage on the highway and I just 1st-OD all the time to get better 0-60 times. Once I wind out 2nd, though, I typically just let it shift into 3rd and then hit 3rd-OD. I'm in the city.

So you do see a power difference by shifting 1st over?

Hey Eric. I took the one out of my old white truck and put it in my yellow Challenger. Works good, but 1st over is useless on the street. It cuts my 3.55's down to 2.76's in 3rd OD. The car got 18.5 mpg running 75 mph going to Farmington.Holler at me sometime, and we'll go for a ride.

I was thinking about one as well, but I wish they would make it with more overdrive. The overdrive ratio is .78. Something more useful like numberically no higher than .7 to really get the rpms down for those of us who want to run very aggressive rear gears.
