70 Cuda, Oct 6, 1969 SPD, Rallye Dash. Road lamp location.
Don't mean to hijack - but Snoopy, in regards to your pic - do you know, or anyone else - did each car (with ralley dash)get it's frame drilled for a road lamp switch (the round hole next to the oval hole) - my dash frame does not have the round hole, but it does have the oval hole, and a roadlamp switch toggle does not fit through that oval hole - I tried to do it after putting together a complete original '71 roadlamp setup - just seems odd that they would drill out a frame here or there instead of casting it at the foundry when the frames were stamped - or did they have seperate roadlamp frames - non roadlamp frames that would be picked according to buildsheet when it came down the line - that makes more sense now that I think about it - don't know why they just wouldn't round out the oval for the switch - thanks - Joe

Snoopy you are the best. Thanks for the post. Could you do a 1 more: 1)shows the head marking of the bolt that goes through bumper bracket and then through the roadlamp bracket. You have been a great help OE detail.
Thanks

Here's a pic of an Oct built Cuda-It's my business partners and is 95% original.
Rally dash cars should be mounted onto the dash frame under neath the heater control bezel, attached to the metal frame, not the plastic. Dash frame, assuming correct year frame will have holes for it. Standard dash is on the switch panel, this panel would also be cut for it if it were an original roadlamp car, it not, you are going to probably have to get an exact location and modify.
That would be nice to assume, but I have documented 5 early (sept/oct) cars with the switch in the same location as I pictured. Hence the reason I made it a point to state it was an early car. This car is still original down to it's tires, belts, hoses, vapor seperator, battery cables, exhaust system etc and there was no hole in the dash for the switch-and it's on the broadcast sheet. All these same early cars had argent Cuda tailpanel emblems too, as well as some other oddities. This I had to research thouroughly, because a car I was restoring was an early car, and had the switch in the "wrong" spot I thought. I not here to argue of course, just stating what I have found in research. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you. I've learned to many things over the past 25 years to accept anything as gospel! cheers
That extra explanation helps a lot Paul. Thanks a bunch!

Snoopy's pic is accurate for the routing...So in order to get the harness through the correct clamps you'll need to pull out the gauge cluster and possibly the ashtray to add the wiring and relay to a car that does'nt have it... And also since we're on the roadlamps...Here's an old post that shows the differences between the older repops and the original roadlamps...B/E&A has the roadlamps with the correct housings and stampings available.. . thanks for the tip, that link was great to.let there be light
