I'm attempting to rebuild the front end on my '68 Charger but I hit a road block.. I can't get the drivers side upper control arm out. One of the bolts (torwards rear) appears to be fused to the bushing. I tried pounding the bolt out with a BFH, but is didn't budge... Anyone have any suggestions? Passenger side came out easily. Thanks

Soak it with some PB Blaster, let it sit awhile, then give the BFH another try.

By the time you get done, your going to need a set of upper control arm adjuster bolts that i sell.

And don't forget to unscrew the upper ball joint before you remove the UCA if that's in the plans also...

I have the upper ball joints out already. I sprayed the areas with PB Blaster. If that doesn't work, I try using heat. I was concerned about the bushings, but I have new ones.

PB blast n patience. You can also burn the old rubber out of the bushing with a torch- also try rapping the adjuster bolt with a drift and a 2 lb hammer to break the rust free.

OK, I tried PB Blaster..no luck, heat..no luck, drift..no luck(it just bent the cam). I'm starting to think that I'm going to have to cut the adjuster bolt out. Not sure how yet though. I have a grinder, saws all, and dremel. I think the grinder and saws all are too big, but I don't have a cutting disc big enough for the dremel.

what he said , you have to cut it in the wheelwell , get carbide sawzall blades if possible .

Looks like the sawzall will work. I only had one blade and made it about 1/3 the way before it broke. I'll pick up more blades tonight and finish cutting tomorrow night. Thanks for the input!

Usually if you get enough toque to bust them loose they snap...

At least that is my experience... - HEAT does help...
