Subscribed. This is truly one of the great ones being brought back to it's former glory!!!! When it's done, what's the chance of it making a couple passes with -----maybe Oldfield beind the wheel?

Here's an older article about the Missile race cars and the rest of the team.

Hi Guys,

Was on the phone with Dick yesterday...damn I miss him!

Anyway, he was telling me that there will be an article about the missile with pics of it in it's current condition.. Hot Rod Magazine ran the original article ( if memory serves me right) and is now following the restoration.

I don't know exactly when it's coming out but thought I would give you all a heads up.

I hear they are still working on the wire car in California.

Are they re-doing th wire car?
There was an article about it several years ago after it was restored...pretty sure it was all painted up with Don Carlton's name on it instead Mopar Missile. 1,880 lbs, W-2 small block, lots of titanium, etc.

So when are some of the old Missile guys going get together with some of the younger whipper-snappers and teach them a few new tricks. It sure would be nice to see somemore old & new Missile race cars in super-stock and in the pro-stock ranks again.

Mick, I do not think the wire car was ever "used in anger", at that time there were numerous issues with the blocks and heads. I believe that the yellow test car was converted into a Hemi car later.

I heard that Arnie Klann has a newer Motown Missile running in NHRA Don't know if that is the car or not.

Dick was working on the wire car...don't know what stage it is at right now.He mentioned that they were doing work on it and he would be there at some point...

I am a bit out of the loop...

That's Mike Wagner's Challenger being run in NHRA super stock. He posted build pictures here awhile ago.

Can someone tell me which issue please, I thought I did have a copy but can't find it.

Also what is on the front cover? I thought it was the pic of all the guys around the Motown car but not sure.

Thanks

Is this the Motown car before it changed to it's present colors?

Beatty and Woods owned the missile after it was the Motown Missile. I spoke to him a couple years ago...he sold it to Mark, my ex, it was called the Isostatic Rebound then. He regrets selling it now but who knew all these old fella cars would come back in a big way?

Nice to see the pics as I asked him for some at the time and we never did get any.. I will email them to Dick if you don't mind. I'm sure he would love to see them!
