I'm trying to install a tti 2.5"x-pipe exhaust system on a 70 Duster 340 with stock exhaust manifolds and a column shift. The left head pipe interfers with the torsion bar, shift linkage & floor to firewall lip.The engine needs to be raised about an inch to get the pipe to meet the exhaust manifold.the motor mounts are new.Does anyone have experience or suggestions on fitting this system?

heres a

wait till you get to the tail pipes , i only used TTi tails and if you wantthem to be in the STOCK location you are in for a rude awakening .

read the instructions , you might have to modify the shift linkage to use the TTi headpipe

tti eh? prices are stupid. build you own 2.5" system. cheaper AND prolly better quality/fitment.
or,
get your local Huffer shop to build you one.. again, lot cheaper.

but i see you already bought one.. have fun with it

I have the same set up as yours in my 71 Duster and have no problems. I Did have to trim a couple tubes a little to make the install a little easier. It sounds like your engine is not located properly for some reason. This car been wrecked??

Thanks for the interest in my problem.Johnrr, what problems did you have with the tail pipes? The first thing I did was read the instructions and the only linkage modifications they mention are the throttle rod and bellcrank, although they don't look like they will hit.dmerc, the car has never been hit, tti's specs for engine placement are 5.25"above the K frame and off set 2.5"to the right measured from crank centerline.Mine is the same highth but 2.25 offset.I don"t think .25"will make enough difference.
