Anyone know what the big end of a 440 rod should measure WITHOUT the bearing shells installed? Didn't check mine until today, looks like they are too tight. (.001" smaller than a stock LY rod) These are new H-beams. I honed the small end, thought the big end would be correct. What was I thinking???? Oh well, back to the machine shop.

My machinist says he checks both ends on all rods. He doesn't care who made them. Somebody had to machine them and measure them and equipment wears/gets knocked out of adjustment and people have bad days.
I would have to agree. I always get knocked out of adjustment.

And as was said 2.500" big end
