Custom made engine wire harness for alternator, oil pressure, water temp. All other fuctions are thru the separate ECU wiring harness. Also all wiring was modified so no heavy electrical loads go thru the original bulkhead connector.

I also got the exhaust system done. 2-1/2" all stainless steel including all clamps, hangers, hardware. All mandrel bent pipes, X-pipe removable with V-clamps in case transmission or clutch need to be changed. This was done by a local shop, it was expensive, but top quality work.

I got it fired up today!!! It started right up after about 5 seconds of cranking. Still needs plenty of adjustments to make it driveable, but it runs.

Turning that key for the first after such a great build must be pretty exciting. Your doing a first class job. Keep the updates coming.

!! Awesome workmanship! I think this is the wave of the future for older mopars as evidence looking at the GM and ford camp. Increased reliability, performance and fuel mileage .I bet you can't wait to drive it!! Please give us some feed back on the comparison to driving old school mopars. Congatulations

Sorted out a few minor things in the last few days. Hopefully tomorrow I will take it for a test drive!
Today I assembled and installed the grille and front bumper.
I restored and painted the grille about 1-1/2 years ago. I still had to install all the moldings, turn signals, etc before installation. Like most other things on this car, it took longer than expected.

Close-up. The repro red bars needed to be repainted, as the paint on them was very sloppy, and too light.

After having some problems with the EFI and clutch, today I got it all sorted out, and took it for a test drive!
There are still some adjustments needed with the ECU, but it is totally driveable as is. Also the belt tensioner I made came apart after about 5 miles, the outer aluminum ring came off the bearing due to heat expansion. Made one out of steel with a much tighter press fit, all seems OK now. Also have a problem with the lower rad hose, once everything warms up, it expands a bit and it it too close to the belt. I'll get this sorted out this week. Otherwise the car drove fine, no strange noises, brakes worked well, clutch is a little grabby, but not too bad. The EFI hemi is definitely superior to an old school carbureted engine.
I hope to take it for a longer test drive very soon.

Here is a pic of the completed engine compartment.
