I believe that's the same locking-type dip stick I have on my Challenger, since I bought one from them that was listed as fitting w/ the CRS shield.

Can't say about the Mancini setup but....
CRT sells an NHRA approved model designed to fit that shield. I put one in my dart and it fits great.-Tom.

Tom does the tube or the dip stick have a SFI sticker on them?

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

mine does not BUT I have not seen where NHRA said it needed to be SFI just needed to be an appoved locking type stick.

The approved list is on page 81 of the NHRA Approved Items available under the competition button on their website.

I needed a new tube anyways but if your tube is good there's no reason why you couldn't just put the GM one in your existing tube. Just ordered one from CRT, thanks!

Anyone have a measurement of say from the center of the trans bell housing to the center of the stick (lock mechanism)? (side to side) I am trying to determine if it will fit in my tube chassis car and miss fuel / throttle stop components and big headers. I am currently using a firewall mount Lokar, the new Lokar is twice the cost of the CRT with CSR shield version which looks pretty great.

TIA Keith

Thats looks to me more like a favorites list.Really do you think a tech inspector is going to carry around a list of manufacters in their pocket and pull every dip stick and check it to the list? He may look to see if it is a locking dipstick. How about all the Honda's and toyota's? If its a rule for safety then they need to have a SFI number and date.(of course then it will triple in cost until you can find them on ebay from other countries)Until then my free locking dip stick from the junk yard is as good as any of the above. If you say it isn't approved then prove it.Non of the above have been tested and been approved SFI. Like people have said before. I have never had fluid come up the dipstick.Out the front vent and yes and I fixed that. Most everyone that is worried about this race's on a liminted base in a car that the center of gravity is so low that it would take a fork lift to fip it over and reach a blazing 120 mph if that in a quarter mile.
I'm all for safety, but locking dipstick? How about a diaper for the tailshaft? I have seen way more fluid on the track from that. How about a tube and catch can for the vent?I have already done that.Maybe I should shut up NHRA will see this and come up with more rules.

Keith- Measuring from the bell center of a BB 727 to where the tube crosses the plane of the measuring tape, I'm getting..
11-3/4" to the inside of the tube.
12-3/4" to the outside of the tube.
The outside of the top of the tube looks to be 13-1/2".
Here is a picture that explains how these nubers were measured. The dipstick itself wont add more than an 1/8" to the outer measurement if the lock "handle" is positioned to the inside.

Here is a shot of how it mounts and where it sets. The mounting strap fit to the outside of the shield bracket. -Tom.

slippery440- No SFI numbers. As far as I know there is just the "approved by the NHRA" list.-Tom.
