So I am seeing all sorts of full floor boards for the early b's now.

As a bonus this is a convertible.

The car is completly together and driving. There were a bunch of patches done to the floors, and they bug me a bit.

How much of a job is it to put new pans in?

Am I gutting the whole car?

Is this a home job? or should I be looking at a professional to do it?
What would someone charge to put in new pans?
Looks like a full set will run nearly 1k. New from AMD. 1500 if I want the trunk pan as well.

When I put the floor pans in my '65 Coronet, the hardest part was getting the underside of the car completely clean before doing anything else. I did both fronts by laying the new pans on the old ones and then after marking, carefully cutting out the old ones so I could butt weld the new ones in. Flanging and then welding would be much easier, but I think that it would trap water. You will have to drill out the spot welds where the floor sits on the front frame section, but it's not hard. You should clean and rustproof the inside of the frame rails at that time.
