I remember in the 70's guys were wanting aluminum intakes to replace their cast iron intakes just for weight savings!

Aluminum manifold on an ebody? Absolutely. Here's the original owner of a 6pk Cuda I own that had not been out of his garage since 1972 with a hair over 3,900 miles on it.

My '70 Six Barrel GTX is original and it was built at Lynch Road with a build date of A23 and has an Iron intake with a casting date of 9-25-69, about 1 month earlier.

SlickRS23, which iron intake does your GTX have, the 2946275 or the 2946276?

there's a 1970 six pack automatic set up on ebay right that's on an aluminum intake. looks like a fairly early build date on the carbs and looks like they've been on the intake for quite some time, but who knows..

Thanks for the info. Your telling me what I expected all along. I guess I'm looking for a iron intake cast in late 1969. Thanks to Dartman for the photo...my car is now FC7 again. It was yellow when raced in NHRA stock class.

I've got a cast iron 6-pack intake cast 10 31 69.

I got it as a trade when I sold some guys restoring a '69 1/2 6bbl Road Runner their matching numbers engine and transmission.

Since I'd just be using it on my '70 Barracuda to build a clone, I'd really rather have an aluminum one. Let me know if you'd be interested.

I'm in the Detroit area.
