Posting for a Magnum-owner friend.

Can you safely remove the weights from a 360 convertor to use on a 340?

Also, who carries that whoopdedoo for your shift linkage which goes over header pipes?

Also, he's installing a 340 with around 400 horsepower, wondering if he should build up his 998 or get a 904/727 and build it up?

yes..you can remove the weights..

what is the trans going to be used in?

904/999 are basically the same trans..except 999 can have extra clutch disc and steel plantitaries and could have different first gear and/or second gear ratios.

Yes , I'm going ahead with my 999 behind a 408 stroker....first gear is lower 2.74 and steel planetary as mentioned.....called the guy at SMR transmission, did not try to bul**** me with stuff.....

Also the 999 have 5 disc clutch instead of 4

basic upgrade with not too much expensive parts..

good for 450+ hp..

Dan
