Hi all,

Hope I'm posting this in the appropriate forum. A friend of mine ran across this site, which shows a "Tiptissorie", constructed of wood!

Wooden Tiptissorie

I'd never have thought that wood would be strong enough for something like this. The two cars in the photos are a VW Rabbit, and a 1993 Mustang notchback (the earlier pics). I'm not sure how this would work on larger cars, such as a B-body, but it's an interesting concept, nonetheless. If anyone decides to try this, please post pictures and info.

Roger

That is a very cool concept, but I would want more material sticking up past the roof line. That would suck to have the inertia carry it over and crush the roof in!

Greeting for the day!!

I just joined this lovely site. I found loads of useful information here. I would also like to contribute some thing for this community. I would like to share some quick weight loss tips. If you want to know how to lose 10 lb in a calendar week, you are believably not looking for a regular diet and workout plan. You can lose weight with a general diet and workout plan, However this requires a lot of time doing intense cardio exercises and following a strict diet. Here I will outline the perfect steps that I took to lose 10 pounds in just a workweek.

1. Keep Distance from all fried nutrients for the week
2. Drink In an 8oz glass of Citrus paradisi with breakfast every day. (this speeds up up your metabolism)
3. Take average portions (stop consuming when you are full)
4. Instead of consuming 3 big a meals a day, take 5-6 smaller meals to keep your metabolism up and keep your body burning fat.
5. Do not eat anything after 9pm. Calories do not burn, when you eat so late.
6. Proper sleep is necessary everyday.. Not getting adequate rest has been proved to be a ranking element to the body storing excess fat.
7. Apply a body/colon clean for the 7 days. This will get rid of unneeded weight stored close to the stomach area as well as cleanse your body of harmfull pollutants that cause you store fat and feel tired. Flush away excess pounds around the stomach area that otherwise would be hard to lose.
8. I advice you using Acai Berry Diet Pills. This one is proven to work, and you can get a free trial.
9. For those mens/womens who need to burn fat quickly, avoid alcoholic drink.
10. A low GI diet is an brilliant method of burning fat quickly.

Thanks!.!

Not everyone has access to or skill with a welder, chop saw, etc. Woodworking tools are much more common for the occassional restorer.

Wood, bolts and screws are surprisingly strong, especially engineers wood products like plywood. However, I agree, additional bracing to prevent rollover in either direction would be a good idea. Also, don't let it get wet.

I've shipped hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of cars all the way to Oz in containers on wooden racking I tack together. Like you mentioned, some people are surprised by it, but a few 4x4's can support a car for the voyage all the way to Melbourne plus the rough handling by some of the port forklift guys just fine.

Plus, a tree is happiest when it's been cut down and put to good use!
