Fab64 OP super stock Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,074 So Cal, USA	Hi all, Hope I'm posting this in the appropriate forum. A friend of mine ran across this site, which shows a "Tiptissorie", constructed of wood! Wooden Tiptissorie I'd never have thought that wood would be strong enough for something like this. The two cars in the photos are a VW Rabbit, and a 1993 Mustang notchback (the earlier pics). I'm not sure how this would work on larger cars, such as a B-body, but it's an interesting concept, nonetheless. If anyone decides to try this, please post pictures and info. Roger

Wood, bolts and screws are surprisingly strong, especially engineers wood products like plywood. However, I agree, additional bracing to prevent rollover in either direction would be a good idea. Also, don't let it get wet. Also, don't let it get wet. I've shipped hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of cars all the way to Oz in containers on wooden racking I tack together. Like you mentioned, some people are surprised by it, but a few 4x4's can support a car for the voyage all the way to Melbourne plus the rough handling by some of the port forklift guys just fine.
