Hi,
The horns on by 70 Challenger do not work. I have power to the horns when the horn button is pushed and they are gounded. Can the horns be repaired? Something I can do myself?

Hi Joe,
Take the small adjusting screw out of the back and spray WD-40 into the screw hole. Also spray a generous amount in the outlet or opening of the horn and rotate it in the direction that will allow the lubricant to find it’s way to the center of the horn. Then rotate the horn in the opposite direction until all of the WD-40 has found it’s way out of the horn. Use some compressed air to blow into the small open hole in the back to assist in draining the light weight oil from the horn. Put the adjusting screw back into the horn about 2 or 3 complete revolutions. Make sure the terminal lead is clean and hook it up to the positive lead of a battery or the positive wire of a 12 volt battery charger. Ground the horn and it should start to work. Let it blow until it starts to sound loose and unobstructed. You can adjust the small screw on the back (in or out) until you get the desired sound. Good Luck and let me know how things turn out!

Took the horns off last night and sprayed the WD-40 in them. I was thinking while I was doing this that it would not work. Well it did! Hooked them up to the battery charger and then adjusted the sound. Put them back on the car and all worked well. Thank you very much for the info. If you ever get up Wisconsin way let my know and I will buy you a beer.
