Well I'm running a 422" which is a 4.10 bore with 4.00 stroke. At 2920lbs it's gone 6.20@109. This is with very little tuning. Should be a solid 6.0-6.10 car soon. Indy 360-2 heads and intake, custom Diamond dome pistons, ect.

I'm running a 408 in my Aspen 3420# w/driver and runs 10.76 @ 123. with a best 1.41 60' but with 4.30 gears & 30" hoosiers.KB744 pistons, forged scat I beams, forged Scat crank, mildly ported Eddy heads,590MP cam,Super Victor,750hp,TTI step up headers.I'd like to get a 950hp from Bigs and see how that would pick it up.Now that TTI has 1 7/8" headers for these cars i should start saving for that upgrade as well. Replcae that carb. Way too small. I start at 870 wet flowed on a 4" arm and those are fairly mild. Bigger is better on the stroker engines in terms of carbs.
Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I had a 416 with moderately ported eddies,( maxed at 275) flat tappet( 260@ 50) 11.8 compression, weiand excellerator, 1000cfm race demon, dinky tti headers, 4900 flash convertor, all in a column shifted, bench seat, 3400 pound car with leafs and went 10.74 with it.I drove that combination 40 miles each way to the track several times to race it. personally i dont think the m1 is the best choice of intakes( like the excellerator or victor both much better) and it likely will run better with a 950ish carb on it, but you will be mighty impressed with its performance possibilities.

Quote:
Why do you say the M1 intake is no good? I don't see much difference from the victor. They are both single planes
Not afraid of trying a bigger carb just gotta get the motor together
i didnt say it was " no good" i said i like both the victor and excellerator better( both those are single planes as well)my personal choice is one of the above, and i have used both. IMO, they both have better fuel distribution.
most " standard headed" good running smallblocks i have seen dont run the M1. thats just my personal observation and opinion, nothing more.
just cause Mopar makes it doesnt make it the best choice. i currently have a w5 motor, the last choice i or most anybody i know to run on a w5 would be either of the mopar w5 intakes. just food for thought is all. but hey if you have it run it, its not like there is a huge difference you are going to see with any of them. you just asked for opinions, and i gave you mine, thats all

Duh...I just noticed my sig and realized that my old mill was a 416 and I could probably contribute to this post and even stay on topic 10.3-1 comp- ross pistons eagle h-beams, MP forged crank ported 1'st gen w2's 1.6 jesels- 2.08/1.60 Victor W2 340 intake w/ 1" spacer Mighty demon 825 TTI step tube headers with full exhaust& x-pipe 1.6 jesels- 2.08/1.60 valves Comp solid flat tappet 260/266 586/597 112 c/l 12lb flywheel I don't know what the car weighs but I'm thinking 3500-3600 for sure with 4'spd and 4:10's & 26.1 tire. Et's were all over the map but mph was 120-122 on any given day. Idled relatively smooth- sounded like a healthy 340 Was a awesome combo till I blew it up...
