My power adder of choice is stroker cranks and big bores. I just like the nice clean look under the hood and the simplicity of it all. F.A.S.T. guys are running 10.?? with stock simplicity under the hood, no nitrous lines to run and all the purge stuff and solonoids and wiring and none of the stuff needed with a turbo like oil lines custom exhaust, intercooler pluming and I can still run a good old fashioned carb, you just can't get any simpler and after working on new cars with 15 or more onboard computers all day and wiring harness as thick as my 4 year olds arm and tubing and hoses that nobody is sure what it does, I want my hot rod to be simple and basic as possible. That is one of the reasons I like the old muscle cars so much, lots of room and very simple. Did Imention it looks waaaaaaay better that way?

OK, I've been thinking about this, and I give. I'm going to build a custom turbo 2.0 out of a Neon and put it in my '68 Dart (Slant Six car). I'm going to shoot for 400hp at the wheels on a mild street tune and over 500 RWHP on high octane. Really.

That would actually be pretty cool, an a-body with that motor will weigh less than a Neon and look far better.

If anybody here thinks that my true 10.5, PS Hemi powered Cuda, is not exciting, than I invite you to come over, and take a lap in the car. You absolutley HAVE TO drive this car the entire 1320, as it is on the verge of spinning the tire, all the way through high gear.

i think as long as there are racers/hot rodders on a budget, natural aspiration will be alive and well. big motors are so easy, we're going faster now than the p/a cars were going just a few years ago. it's all relative. my 10 second street car is reliable, and faster than many all out racers from "just" a couple of decades ago. 12 seconds was nigh untouchable for a street car.

Nope, you can drive it. Bring your helmet, a waiver, and a box of Depends.

Yes I think NA is dead. lol

I think I'm a perfect example. I started racing a 1320cc drag bike. went 9.30s with it. Sold it and bought my first dragster. First motor for it in 1992 was a 572" BBC with dart 360 heads. Went 690s. Then built a 632" donovan block big chief went 650s with it.
Sold my dragster and had a TAD built, bought my first blown hemi from a X TAD world champ, came with a 50 psi wipple blower. It made my 632 big cheif feel like a toy.
Then had to buy a 60 psi PSI D blower and it went even faster(5.49 et)

There's nothing like putting your foot into it on a burnout and it would smoke the tires as long as I wanted. Unreal is all I can say, it's loud and nasty at 9500rpm on a burnout.

So now a days when

I put my foot into my 500hp street car I'm not impressed, but that's not why I enjoy them.

My next street motor is gonna be blown with my old wipple blower turned way down, that should be more fun that my 440/6 motor.

The bar has been raised pretty good in the last 10 years imo.

The early days,

few years later,

This is a picture of blown power, I think you can see the power. After driving something boosted there no going back!!

First run after moving the cam in the engine, it had way more bottem end power. BTW there's already 40 pounds of weight in the nose along with 11 gals of fuel up front.
