from what i have read and seen a sb /904 fits the arrow ok. headers are where you run into trouble. i have seen a few with block hugger( street rod) type, and some with stock mannys.

I have a colt with a small block in it. It's a tight fit.

Send a PM to Darrell. He has a 318 Arrow (same basic unibody as an Arrow), nicely done. Even retains the stock Mitsu shifter. Very cool little car.
I set a 440 in an stock chasss Arrow a few years ago just to see where everything would locate... downright ugly are the best words I can find to describe it. Small block is definitely the smarter move if you are thinking V8. Even with a 904, you still have to build a new trans tunnel, and mod the firewall for the distributor.
Heck I was going to put a hemi in the colt I tried to get but it was going to be a tube chassis... but the deal fell through on the car... Eric on the board here has a BB 440 in his Arrow

I have a 1980 D-50 truck with a 360 small block in it. I am pretty sure they have the same engine bay. They are both made by Mitsubishi. It has a fabbed trans tunnel and block hugger headers. I plan on bracket racing it this year,I went to test and tune last year to get the bugs worked out. It ran 7.55 at 90 with 1.56 60 ft.
1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...

Here is one that would be neat.
Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

COLT340 Where did did you get those headers.I think a set like that would be a lot less restrictive than the block huggers I have on mine.
