How deep/large is the hardening surface on 425s heads ?
If you cut them out to 2.14/1.81 valves are you still on hardened surface ?
Can I port with templates first and then cut to bigger valves ?

do you mean it could change from head to head ?
Yes , I put that as a disclaimer so you , or anyone else , doesn't come back here and calling me names because I gave you bogus info . ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/violin.gif)
Have the shop that is going to do the work cut one exh out to the larger valve size , they will be able to tell you if they feel it's still hard , unless they are just trying to make money off you , then they will say it needs seats ... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)
