This is for a mostly street driven car. I'm putting together a MP 360 short block (p4876908) assembly. It has out of the box edelbrock heads and air gap intake, and comp cams xe274h with roller rockers. CR should be around 10.5. This is for my '67 Dart with A/T and 3.23 gears. I have not yet purchased a torque converter, but want the thing streetable. I was thinking around 2200 stall. Any suggestions? I was leaning toward the Edelbrock Thunder AVS 800cfm.

I really don't want to change the gears right now. I have two complete center sections and they're both 3.23. Some day I might set one up different for track time, but I have a lot of other problems to throw money at right now.

what kind of compression will you end up with? 323's should be fine, I'd up the converter to something like a 2600-2800 stall. for a "cheap" converter that's pretty good, I'd look at the MP 175K.
I'd lean towards the 800 eddie, or a themoquad built by demonsizzler

I started this build about 5 years ago. IIRC the compression was just under 10.5. I was following something close to what was done in I believe a Hot Rod magazine article. They ended up with just over 400hp and 400ft/lb torque. Five years and 2 houses later I can't find the article.
Comp cams site calls for a 2200+ stall converter for that cam and says the rpm range is from 1800 to 6000. That's why I was going to go with a 2200 stall.

Also forgot to mention I have a '66 19 spline 727 built already. That limits me on converter choices. I have been considering keeping the 904 that is in the car.

I guess I'm going to disagree with the carb of choice so far. The OP says this is a 360 that is a street only car. There's no reason to overcarb a street car. It will run way better with better throttle response and better mpg with a slightly smaller carb. Math says a 366 cube motor at 6500 RPM and 95% V.E. can use 654 CFM. Most motors will never see close to 95% V.E. And a double pumper on a street car with 3.23 or 3.55 gears is just plain bad advice. My choice would be a Holley 670 Street Avenger series.
Wrong 3310 vacuum secondary and edelbrock carbs till the air door or secondaries receive enough vacuum created at the top of the venturies to open are 2 barrels!! 3310 is the best all round carb made.

Thanks for the help so far. I have 2 used carbs sitting around, but I think one is too small (Holley 4160 600cfm single feed) and the other is junk and a spread bore (Holley 4011 650cfm dual feed). I guess I should start with what CFM do you suggest? I would think less than a 750 would bee too small??? I have no problem with buying used and rebuilding one. Also car is set up for a manual choke and I think I would like to keep it that way.

Andy,
With the spacer and the air gap intake, what throttle linkage will I need?

I would use the 4160 600cfm that you have. Using any carb bigger than a 650 would be over kill. bigger isn't better I run a 650 mighty demon on my built 360. ported x heads, airgap, solid cam. runs 8.0 1/8th mile.

Just the basic small block kit and return. Part number is AR004 and AR027. You need to run a cable kickdown with that setup. Swing by my shop and I'll set you up with the parts.
