I'm rebuilding the front end on my 73 Duster and need the seals/boots for the torsion bars. I saw the P/N in the archives but that said b-body. whats the p/n for my a-body.

also how can I take off the hood springs? fenders are off so access is good but i dont want that thing uncoiling on me if it can.

thanks

$36 for the boots at Mancini and fit A,B, and E's...

On the springs, you have pry off those retainers (from the stud on the body) and just pull the springs/hinge off...it won't spring all out at you.

Same part number for a-body t-bar boots.

Pry/pull the little circle clip off of the two pegs that hold the hood hinge, the spring won't come off unless you try to pry just the spring.

i swear i couldnt find them on mancini an hour ago (even with a picture on the main page), oh well got them coming to the local dealer.

so can you separate the spring from the hinge or not? will be adding a bolt on fiberglass hood and was just going to run it with no springs.

thanks again

You can separate the spring from the hinge. It is swedged on the middle peg, so you may have to grind the middle peg a little bit to get the spring to slide off.

A prop rod sucks. Replace the stock springs with low tension ones for that glass hood.
