Is it just me or are there a bunch of SLOW a$$ race cars that half of us could whoop with our STREET cars! You see these big tired cars w/big motors, lexan and what not running what seems way slow by race standards and most look like they should be in the 8`s or 9 sec. zone.

No Thumper, it's not you. I know some tow rigs that are faster than the cars they're showing. Don't even get me started about those bozos running Pinks..........

The one's I've seen are mostly bracket cars set up chassis wise to win. Fewer and fewer people can afford 10.50 and faster motors in 3200 lb packages these days. The questions some of the panel ask are funny. "How big a tar ya' gots thar?"

I'm addicted to that show, watch it every night! And yes there are some serious turds on the show. But last night Mike Murillo was on the show with his 6 second turbo stang, sounded like a jet car but didn't stay hooked.

It's amazing how many guys stand there and say they have 700-850HP with wheelie bars and a chute on the back and then bust out a 10.79 with good traction.

Then there's some runners to that surprise ya!

The show is entertaining.....but, if I see ANOTHER 540 inch big block Chevy on nitrous in a Camaro I'm going to toss my cookies....

I will agree that some are slow. But you also have to remember that the shows taped at Area 51 in Roswell the altitude is 3600'. Herring remarked about forgetting to factor that in the other evening on one episode.

I like the show but they do have waaaay too many Chevies. Also seems to be a lot of 600+hp cars running 11's and 12's. The import guys crack me up...yeah it dyno'd at 550hp, it did? and you ran a 13?

Don't like Chevies on the show? Do some of you ever actually go to a drag strip and watch racing? The ratio of Chevies to Mopars is easily 10/1. They have alot on the show because alot show up to race period. Get over it. personally I don't care what make it is as long as it's a well built car. Seen pleny of junky Mopar turds on the show too.

Chevrolet - What else is there?

When I see it I usually guess the time by saying something to the effect... 'It'll run 10.20's, it should run low 9's, but it'll run 10.20's!' ...usually not far off the mark, either.

only a few of the shows were filmed in NM. They travel around taping episodes. The first 3 were at Bradenton and it was a huge fiasco. Friends of mine waited 3 days to make one pass. No thanks...

The best was the 'redemption' show, where people who had made bad passes previously came back to try and better themselves....all kinds of excuses, and some of the people ran slower the second time around.

Don`t get me wrong guys, I dig the show and usually win my imaginary $2,000 dollars but can`t get over the turds that can`t produce. I know there are some beasts also who don`t hook and a few who are outstanding but like last night.....a Monza w/a 598 big block chevy running 10.30`s? Gimme a break. The cool part is that I(we)can appreciate our cars that much more and I`m about to jump in my car now and get some 91 pump swill and a gallon of milk.
