We had a time crunch restoration going, and needed a decent finish panel in a (relative) hurry. This was for the 69 R/T in my sig.
I purchased a pretty nice panel from a member here, and sent it off to MCB for what was to be a (3 week turn time) restoration.
I know they dont anodize, I know you get what you pay for etc, so no need for commentary. The ONLY reason this was sent to them was the time crunch to get it back and on the car.
5+ weeks (and the day before the car goes to Vegas!), the panel arrives.
Absolute trash.
Helen Keller did the masking and painting.
Some guy with a spastic motor control disorder must have done the metal straightening, cause it actually looks worse than when it left.
The center reflector doesn't even fit into the recess, and every single dent and ding in the panel is still there.
My personal favorite is the fact that the panel went to them with all the brackets and center reflector with it, and came back as a shoddily restored piece of recycling, completely disassembled. The brackets were beadblasted and thrown in the box, the center reflector was as dirty as the day it came off the road. There's even old rivet ends still stuck in the aluminum from MCB dismantling it, and all the tangs that help hold the steel in place are bent every which way... Wonder how it's going to look after I have to tweak all the tangs around to reassemble it?
I know these guys are site sponsors, but I'm seriously considering a stop payment on my check.

Think your big "time crunch" had anything to do with it. I hate when people don't plan ahead. MCB has done some real nice work for me. He called me several times to keep me informed.

Yep that blows, but at the same time what do you expect?

Im a now type person, have been all my life.....this past year with my mopar has taught me more about patience then ive learned up to this point in life.

There is nothing like getting to one stage of a project, hit a snag and then waiting 3-4 6 weeks to proceed.

I feel for ya, but we all know what happens when you put a pie in a mircowave when it should of went in the oven....IT SUCKS!

If my big 'time crunch' was an issue, and the thought of restoring a finish panel in 3 weeks strikes fear into your heart, tell me NO when I call to ask if you can do it. Don't take the job on, and then deliver junk.
The tail panel was at their shop on Feb 12th.
MCB told me "3 weeks, start to finish" in response to me asking what their turn time would be; I merely asked the question.
They kept it for 5+ weeks, and (after telling us it's 'shipping tomorrow' 3 different times), we finally arrived at a point where the part had to be shipped 2nd day air, at our expense.
The crux of the matter is that the panel was "restored" by MCB, yet looks like a pile of poo.
And of course, no one at MCB has called or emailed in regards to anything.

If it is that bad, don't think I wouldn't stop payment on the check.Otherwise, you will never see one dollar of it back.

Karl, Let's be real here. There's no way you can tell me that panel was in worst shape after then before! Come on! There was some serious damage to that panel in the middle reflection section. Did you try to place it on your car prior to sending it to me? I've sent you emails telling you to send it back and I'll go through it again. I've even since bought a better core and offered to restore that for you, but you have not responded to those offers, so what's going on with that? As it stands right now you have a free panel since you cancelled the check and stuck UPS with the bill on this restoration. Call me at 810-395-7162 to resolve this, I no longer have your phone number on file. Matt @ MCB / Mopar Metal Restoration.

Boy I don't know about people who don't respond, then to stick people with unpaid bills. What did UPS do to not get paid???

I have seen Matt's work in person and I thought it looked to be pretty darn nice. Matt himself seems to be a nice guy. But with that said Matt, why stir the crap after all this time? Ron

I have never done business with MCB but I have with Mike. I have said it before and will say it again. You get what you pay for. With Mike, even though he is backed up, I have always got a better than expected product. And as others have said, patience in this hobby is mandatory. My neighbors wife said to me, "All I ever hear about is this barracuda of yours, when is it going to get on the road? My brothers would have had it on the road 6 weeks after they bought it." I simply told her, well you can either have it right or have it fast but you can't have both.

This picture is the panel fresh out of the box on 3/26. You can see some of the bracketry in the background, so this is obviously prior to it being re-assembled and put on the car.
